Web Sqaured (Web Meets World) dtc 356

I think the most important idea from this article was about the collection of data in real time.  The example about how if one product isn't selling well, it would take 6 months before for the manufacturer in china to know this, but now it happens instantaneous.  In my professional goals as to work for a certain business firm or gaming company making sure they are using all their information efficiently.  Getting real time feed back will help greatly in fixing problems that would have taken longer in the past.

Flickr is probably one of the most exciting web apps that I have seen in the past year.  Its crazy to think that all those images are from different people, cameras, taken at different times of the day and they still look amazing.  And you can pin point individual points of the pictures and zoom into it, you can be anywhere in the world at your computer.  I think it embodies what web 2.0 is all about, flickr is a collective community of users who share photos to create these massive 360 degree photos. Its simply amazing.

  1. I agree with you that the real time data was a very interesting part in the article. It has really led to our growth in knowledge, talents, and efficiency as a whole in this world and allowed technology and the web grow as fast as it has in the last decade or two.

  2. It seems as if this article could give great insight to the field you want to go into. I think that things like Flickr can also relate to this real time data simply due to the fact that information, pictures, etc. can be accessible at such a rapid pace, and in such a simple way.

  3. You really took a good insight from the article about real time capabilities of Web 2.0. It also works well with outsourcing projects that are begun in one country and sent to another half way around the world, so when one country is going to sleep, the other is waking up ready to do work. I like the real life insight you brought to the reading.

  4. Short and sweet, nice post that covers some of the most relevant points from the piece (particularly in relation to your future profession). A few more nods to some of the reading can't hurt, in that I'm always looking to see if people did the reading (my #1 priority). Still, overall a good job for your first post.

  5. I like this post, its straightforward, and brings to light something i haven't considered. The fact that the instant feedback would improve how companies stock and manufacture products. This saves millions on production and distribution costs, and is one of the many benefits of the web 2.0 system.
